BOTTOM LINE
BitDefender has added a ton of new features—online backup and remote configuration, for example. It includes all the expected security elements, with decent performance from most of them. It's a reasonable choice if you're excited by those extra features.

PROS
Includes 2GB of online backup. Resists tampering. Almost no false positives from antispam. Blocks phishing sites. Can limit children's Internet use. Scans for system vulnerabilities. Can restore virus-damaged files from backup.

CONS
Malware scanner frequently left threats uncleaned even after multiple passes. Antispam slows mail download significantly. Parental control blocks many valid sites. Duplicate file finder can damage system.
